Final Fantasy VII Fun  Hot Hints & Dirty Tricks

Final Fantasy VII Fun : This article is going to be part Hot Hints, part Dirty Tricks...

Cloning: Get 450 1/35 soldiers, you talk to the sleeping man near Junon and he willmake you a clone of Sephroth or Airies.

Infinite Money: Go to the cock in Rocket Town and press "X" for a moneycard.

Barret Wallace's 'Missing Score': * Stick Barett in your party while climbing up the stairs to the Mako Cannon during the raid on Midgar during Disc 2. If Barett's in your party, a chest will be visible on one of the landings that contains his Ultimate Weapon. To empower Barett's weapon, attach materia to it that have lots of AP (such as mastered materia).

Tifa Lockheart's 'Premium Heart': * Get the Sector 5 Key and return to Midgar during Disc 2 or 3. Go to the Wall Market and enter the building labled "Item". Examine the computer and you'll get her weapon. During a battle, Tifa's weapon does more damage the closer she gets to maxing her Limit Break. If she does a Limit Break and misses one of the slots, the weapon's power will momentarily increase, then lessen.

Aeris Gainsborough's 'Princess Guard': * While exploring the Ancient Temple during Disc 1, open the chest in one of the corridors connected to the clock puzzle room in order to get the Princess Guard. If her allies are in critical condition or are killed, the power of her weapon shoots up.

Red XIII's 'Limited Moon': * Prior to the raid on Midgar City in Disc 2, or during any time in Disc 3, go to Cosmo Canyon with Red XIII in you party. Bugen Hagen will give him his Ultimate Weapon before dying. The Limited Moon does more damage depending on how much current MP Red has, just like how the Ultima Weapon's ability to inflict damage depends on Cloud's current HP to maximum HP.

Yuffie Kisaragi's 'Conformer': * Her Ultimate Weapon is found in one of the chests in the wrecked Shinra plane that's lying on the sea floor. When fighting enemies, if they are of a level higher than Yuffie's, she does more damage per hit.

Cait Sith's 'HP Shout': * Found in the back row of lockers on Floor 64 of the Shinra HQ, during the raid on Midgar City in Disc 2. Just like the Ultima Weapon, Cait does more damage depending on how close his current HP is to his maximum HP.

Vincent Valentine's 'Death Penalty': * Put Vincent in your party and visit Lucresia during Disc 2 or 3; she's in the Waterfall Cavern on the Western Continent and you can get there using a Green Chocobo or the submarine. You should go here as soon as you're able to. Then, visit Lucresia again at a later point, and you'll find the Death Penalty and his Chaos Manual lying in the cavern. The Death Penalty's power raises in proportion to how many enemies Vincent has killed since joining your group.

Cid Highwind's 'Venus Gospel': * After the Rocket Huge Materia Quest, return to Rocket Town. Talk to the old man who gave Cloud the Yukiyoshi. Chat with him Good chocobos - just SE of Gold Saucer Great chocobos - just W of Mideel (SE island) Wonderful chocobos - on the W side of the snowy northerncontinent. To get a blue or green chocobo you need a good and a greatchocobo of the opposite sex, plus a supply of Carob nuts (which you can steal or win from the big red beasts south of the bone village). Race them up to at least Class B at the Gold Saucer and feed them a lot of high-cost greens (the best ones can be found at the Chocobo Sage's place in the northern mountains). Note: racing chocobos up to higher classes and/or feeding them greens isn't necessary; it can significantly increase your chances of getting the chocobos you want, though. Good+Great using a Carob nut can produce: 1) another yellow chocobo (get rid of it) 2) a green (mountain-climbing) chocobo 3) a blue (River-running) chocobo To get a Black chocobo, you need to mate a blue with a green. They should both be A class if possible. Blue+green using a Carob nut can produce: 1) another blue chocobo2) another green chocobo 3) a black (river and mountain) chocobo To get a gold chocobo, you need to mate a black chocobo to awonderful chocobo. You'll HAVE to race both up to S class, and make sure to feed them to the teeth with the best greens. (you can steal or win the necessary Zeio nut from the goblins on the small northeasternmost island on the map).Black+wonderful using a Zeio nut can produce: 1) a yellow chocobo (get rid of it)2) a black chocobo 3) a gold (mountain, river, and ocean crossing) chocobo Racing note: The gold chocobo can beat Teioh (the black chocoboat the races that shows up just so you won't win all the time), even though Teioh's chocobo has impossible-to-achieve stamina and speed, because he always gets trapped behind the other chocobos while racing and uses up a lot of his stamina. (Also, you can regain your stamina during the race by holding L1+R1+L2+R2). As far as I know, these are the only chocobos available (even though we see white, pink, red, etc at the races). And I've only managed to get one gold chocobo (usually on the first try if the parents are both S class). It seems the game will only allow you to have one. Beating the Weapons Equipment you will need Now these guys are hard, even harder than Sephiroth himself and its because they have about 1,000,000 HP each! There are some basic equipment you need to beat them. First you need the Knights of the Round summon materia. You can get it by breeding a Gold chocobo and using it to get up to the island at the top right part of the map, go back to my Chocobo breeding section when I get one to learn how to breed a gold chocobo. Next make sure to have a good supply of HP and MP plus materias, you can get them at Red XIII's town, Cosmo Canyon. You need these because you want your groups HP at around 9000 each and the MP at around 950. Get them early in the game and build them up so you can get alot of HP or MP out of one, you want as little of these materias equiped as possible when you fight the Weapons. Make sure to have a good magic plus materia also, when you equip it to Cloud (he's going tobe the main character in the fights.) he should have about 230 magic power (check on the status screen). A very important materia also is HP absorb, make sure you have this! It should be at a fairly high AP level also. You can get this materia in Yuffies town Wutai in the room with all the cats. Other materia you need are Quadra Magic (Blue materia), Mimic (yellow materia). You can get both of these in materia caves that you can get to by using the black chocobo. You also need Final attack (Blue materia) which you should be able to get if you get both the Omnislash and the W-Summon(which you also need) at the Golden Saucer battle arena, this could get very boring but you have to do it. after you do it fly around ( you should be towards the end of cd 2) and fight the Ultimate Weapon that is flying around, after you beat him and get Clouds Ultimate Weapon from him go back to the Golden Saucer and fight the special fight that is offered to you, win it and you will have the final attack materia. Another good thing that you should have is the Big Guard enemy skill that you can get from the beach plugs on the beachs by Costa del Sol. And get some Sprint shoes from the Chocobo races. Some recommended items are the Mystile armor, UltimaWeapon (you get this from the Ultimate Weapon you fight) and a ribbon, you also want a Phoenix summon and a Bahamut ZERO or another strong summon. You must have a good supply of Turbo Ethers or Elixers (Elixers preffered). Heres a list of all of the above: 1. Knights of the Round summon materia 2. enough HP plus materias to get your characters up to about 9000 HP 3. enough MP plus materias to get Cloud up to 950 and another at about 650 4. W-Summon materia 5. Final Attack materia 6. Magic plus materia 7. Sprint Shoes 8. Enemy skill materia with Big Guard on it 9. HP absorb materia 10. Mimic materia 11. Elixers and/or Turbo Ethers 12. Ribbon 13. Mystile Armor (highly recommended) 14. Ultima Weapon 15. Quadra Magic materia 16. Bahamut ZERO or strong summon materia 17. Phoenix summon materia One more thing you should have all of the characters in you party at around level 60.

Duping Items

by Jeff Kelley There is an easy way to duplicate items in Final Fantasy VII, but it can only be done later in the game. First off, when you have parachuted into Midgar's Sector 8, make sure to get the "W-ITEM" materia. Equip it and set whatever item you want to duplicate at the beginning of your inventory. Note that this must be an item you can use in a battle (Elixers, Fire Veils, etc.) Then go to the configuration screen and set ATB to wait (unless you want to die). Equip "W-ITEM" and enter a battle. When the character who has the materia eqipped's turn comes up, go into W-ITEM. Select the item you want to duplicate and select who you want to use it on, just like normal. But when it comes time to use the second item, select any old item. When the finger comes up around the enemies or allies, press the CANCEL button (X on a PlayStation). Item #1 will have increased in quantity by 1. You can repeat as much as you want. This is great with megalixirs.
